About PhilCOAST

PhilCOAST is 3-year project of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and part of the Belmont Forum Global Sustainability Initiative which seeks to develop a stakeholder-driven tools that will monitor, forecast, and report the effectiveness of management decisions on coastal and ocean sustainability.

The Belmont Forum and PhilCOAST
As part of the Belmont- COAST CARD Global Initiative, the implementation of PhilOAST is in synergy with other international projects that will look complex knowledge/information on people, status of major coastal communities across the globe, and its function.
Main Objective
PhilCOAST aims to evaluate ocean sustainability in relation to different pressures on coastal and marine ecosystems by developing an Ecosystem Health Report Card and other science-based tools.
